Austin review
Posted on 01. Feb, 2012 by Grant in News
So Austin, Texas rocks. It was great to be there and to work with so many cool musicians. It was the most I’ve ever experienced of the scene outside of SXSW and it was great. Thanks to folks like Will Landin, Troupe Gammage, and Alex Maas (the black angels) for being great musicians to work with. Hope to see more of the scene in March for SXSW.
I have a bunch of gigs in February with my dudes (and chick) Waking Lights as well as playing Zum Schneider’s annual Karneval celebration. Check out the shows page for details. Be well.
2012 and a little review of 2011
Posted on 12. Jan, 2012 by Grant in News
Welcome to the final year of existence (so they say). I’m going with it personally. I think it’s more interesting to think that its possible that humanity will be wiped off the earth by some unforeseen fated tragedy than continue with day to day life as if nothing will ever interrupt human’s quest for limitless conquering. Blah blah blah. Anyway…
I ended last year with some great Waking Lights and Aunt Martha work and that’s exactly how I’m starting 2012. Waking Lights did Long Island last weekend and Philly and NYC are on the docket for the next month. I’ll be going into the studio with Aunt Martha, working on just a few tracks for a hopeful album by the end of the year.
Later in January, I’ll be down in Austin for a few days preforming the new work This Ambitious Show. It’s also running one night only at the House of Yes here in Brooklyn. Check out the video for a little taste of what the show is like.
And lastly, I did 100+ public performances in 2011. That’s the 2nd year in a row I broke 100. I know it’s not a huge accomplishment, but you gotta start somewhere. Happy New Year Everyone.
